Kurayami is dark, cruel, and over all, evil. She loves to play with other's minds in any way she can. She can lie and act her way into or out of almost anything, and uses her powers carefully when doing so. She hates light, and in her 'shadow form' it can actually hurt her. She fears what might happen to herself, should she be left for dead by everyone who currently 'helps' her, including the destroyer's chosen, and the alliance of night. She also believes that the world is 'corrupted,' and that Clades wishes to recreate it anew to cleanse it. Unknown to her, she still seems to have a conscience, and hates what she's doing... But not enough to stop. Just enough to make her hesitant when faced with the task of killing a young, or very kind-hearted guardian.
History
Kurayami was created by Clades out of pure darkness. Because of this, she can control both the element given to her, fear, and the element she was born from, darkness. Not only that, but because she came from darkness and not completely from negative energy like Kyouki, she was uncorrupted by the negative energy of Clades.
When she was young she was found by the Alliance of Night, and taken in by one of the guardian mothers there. She was raised just like any other newborn guardian, along with her adoptive brother, Lunare. However, when she turned nine, their father, Hawk, died in battle with the Light Guardians. Kurayami, being young when she was found, came to feel like the adoptive family was her own, and so was saddened by the loss, just as her brother was. From there, it only got worse. Their mother, devastated with the loss of her love, poisoned herself, leaving Lunare and Kurayami alone. Unwanted by any other guardian mother, they got through only because of the alliance as a whole. At this point, Kurayami was around twelve years of age. She had long before gotten her element, having been created with it, but her brother, at this point, was just getting his.
At age fifteen Clades begun to realize that Kurayami wasn't corrupted as his other creations were, and began to twist her thoughts, making her personality change and grow dark. She started to believe that everything was wrong, that the world was corrupted.
One day, while alone in the forest, she was spoken to by the destroyer, who told her of her origins. At first, she didn't believe it. Even with the destroyer attempting to 'fix' her, she refused to believe that she was anything less than a normal, kind-hearted guardian. So, Clades took a different approach. He told her that if she helped him, he would be able to destroy the 'corrupted' world, and create it anew. Thoughts twisted just enough to make her believe him, she agreed to help. However, as an initiation into the Destroyer's Chosen, she had to kill her brother, Lunare. An act that would trigger the darkness within her, and turn her into what Clades had always wanted her to be.
In the beginning, she refused, but the destroyer convinced her that he was just another already corrupted by the world, and therefore had to die. So, clinging tightly to regret and sadness, she went back to the alliance. She lured Lunare out into the woods, and killed him. With that, she completely cracked. She was sadistically happy, terrified, but most of all, heartbroken. Even so, she didn't have the courage to realize what those emotions were, and so clung to Clades' lies like a safety line, fearing there was no net beneath her, should she fall. And for the most part, she was right. She had no family or friends, just a few allies whom she had, unknown to them, betrayed. And then there was her real allies, the Destroyer's Chosen.
